Every so often, it’s great to indulge in something new. Such as improving your skills in a unique area of cooking. In this case, I’m talking about learning some of the skills of a pastry chef. While most of us will never learn to make cakes that look like those from Cake Boss, it’s true that a lot of us would like to get better at the more delicate baking and decorating techniques.

Cherryspoon is a great site for those of us who want to improve our baking skills. The site is the personal blog of a woman studying to be a pastry chef. She shares her experiences, her recipes and her silly stories. You’ll learn to make some desserts you probably never heard of. You’ll also learn about some great products that can help make your cooking and baking adventures a little easier. Plus, you’ll learn that you’re not the only one who experiences some of the common problems that go along with baking.

Cherryspoon is a beautifully presented site, with gorgeous pictures of things you’ll be dying to make (and eat). You’ll also get a bit of humor and some very good advice from this little blog. I think I’m going to go make a Bourbon Chocolate Soufflé right now.
