New travel sites pop up all the time. And, for the most part, they tend to be like all the others. They can help you find discounts, for certain, but usually not any discounts you couldn’t have found at any other discount site. But, we’re also finding that new travel sites are cropping up aiming to help us in other ways besides just finding discounts.
One of our new favorites is Trip It. Trip it is great for keeping your travel details organized. As you receive all those confirmation notices while making your arrangements, simply forward them to “plans@tripit.com. Then, when you’re ready to travel, you’ll have a single master itinerary from Trip It, even if you used multiple sites for booking your arrangements. Your itinerary can even have maps, weather reports and directions included. You can also book tickets to events in the town you’ll be traveling to right through Trip It.
Signing up for Trip It is free and the site is very easy to use. Before you know it, you’ll have a complete itinerary and details for your next trip available to you in a printable form, or one you can access right through your smartphone. What could be easier than that?

Online travel websites are enormously popular. They offer travelers discounts that may be hard to find elsewhere, and many also offer the convenience of being able to book packages that include airfare, hotel and rental car, or any combination thereof, which just a few simple clicks.
But while the Expedia’s, Travelocities and Hotwire’s of the world definitely have found their places in the world, the newest travel websites we’re finding are much more niche sites.
For example, Flightcaster is an ingenious little site that does just one thing: predicts whether or not your flight is likely to be delayed. Based on traffic for the day and other delays ahead of your flight or that affect your flight, Flightcaster can predict whether your flight will be delayed approximately six hours before you would get an alert from your airline. It’s a great timesaver for those who have been frustrated in the past by rushing to make a flight because the airline still predicted it would be leaving or arriving on time; only to find when we get there that the flight is delayed.
Expect to see more niche travel sites coming and becoming more popular. In particular, growth is expected in travel sites aimed at senior travelers.
