Switch Planet is basically a social networking site that’s designed to help people trade their old media for something new.
By joining Switch Planet, you’re able to find other people with whom you can trade your used DVDs, CDs, video games and books. You have a book that you’ve read and no longer need to keep around; so why not trade it for something you haven’t read?
I particularly love this site as a parent. It’s great to be able to trade those Disney DVDs that my kids have outgrown for some movies that appeal to older kids, and to trade my son’s chapter books for some that my daughter, who has reached that age, would like.
Switch Planet is not only environmentally friendly, but it’s pocketbook friendly, too. You could, theoretically, never have to buy another book, video game, cd or dvd again. Just keep trading around to get rid of the old and get in some new entertainment.
